Meet Our Dental School Admissions Consultants

Andrew Hanna, DDS

Dr. Andrew Hanna, known as Dr. Drew, completed his undergraduate studies at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, where he was an inaugural member of the Honors College and earned a degree in Public Health and Biological Sciences. He then pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated at the top of his class and was inducted into the prestigious OKU Dental Honors Society. Following dental school, Dr. Drew completed advanced training through a General Practice Residency at Morristown Medical Center. Currently, Dr. Drew is practicing general dentistry in Northern New Jersey. He is also involved in dental education, serving as a mentor to pre-dental students throughout their pre-dental journey and with the application process.

Yael Breziner, DDS

After graduating from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology in 2018, Yael continued her education at the University of Southern California where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2022. Yael chose to further specialize in periodontal surgery and implant dentistry and is currently a third year periodontics resident at Texas A&M in Dallas, Texas. Yael has always had a passion for helping others realize their goals and brings extensive admissions knowledge to her work. While at USC, Yael served as an ambassador for the dental school where she aided dental school candidates during the various aspects of the admissions process. She enjoys mentoring students and working closely with them to address every aspect of the application process to dental school.

Vince Law, DDS

Dr. Law is a graduate of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry. He is currently an oral and maxillofacial surgery resident at the University of Kentucky Medical Center where he is pursuing a medical degree along with his surgical training. During dental school, Vince worked closely with peers serving as a tutor, mentor, and dental lab teaching assistant. Vince is very familiar with all aspects of the dental school admissions process and understands the extensive preparation it requires. He brings an eye for detail and a passion for empowering students to all his interactions with students.

Hailey Bivens, DDS

Originally from Southwest Virginia, Dr. Bivens earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Richmond in Richmond, VA followed by dental school at Creighton University. Recognized for her commitment to women in dentistry, Dr. Bivens received the outstanding leadership award for the American Association of Women Dentists during dental school. She also actively participated in several clinics aimed at serving underprivileged communities. Dr. Bivens went on to complete her Periodontology Residency Program at Texas A&M University in Dallas, Texas. While completing her advanced studies in Periodontology, she will earn a Master of Science in Oral Biology in May 2025. During her residency, she conducted research on soft tissue grafting to better understand the patient’s healing potential to enhance patient outcomes. Dr. Bivens enjoys spending her free time with her husband and their dog, Luna. A true Virginian at heart, Dr. Bivens enjoys multiple outdoor activities, traveling, and eating a good southern meal.

Maddie Auvinen, DDS

Dr. Auvinen brings diverse expertise in all aspects of dental school admissions, including helping applicants develop compelling personal statements, refine their overall application strategy, and strengthen their candidacy as reapplicants. She also has extensive experience supporting international students and internationally trained dentists applying to dental school in the United States. Dr. Auvinen earned her dental degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, where she was actively involved in the Academy of General Dentistry and Women in Dentistry. Following dental school, she completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and is currently an endodontic resident at the University of Iowa.

Armen Aroutiounian, DDS

Dr. Aroutiounian is passionate about helping dental school applicants bring their unique stories to life through compelling personal statements, strong supplemental applications, and confident interview preparation. He has extensive experience guiding both first-time applicants and reapplicants through the dental school admissions process at programs across the United States, helping them strengthen their candidacy and present themselves in the most effective way possible. A Los Angeles native, Dr. Aroutiounian earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from California State University, Northridge, followed by a Master’s degree in Global Medicine and a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Southern California. He is currently a second-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery resident at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Aroutiounian is dedicated to mentoring future dentists and enjoys helping applicants approach the admissions process with clarity, strategy, and confidence. In his spare time, he enjoys weightlifting, traveling, and exploring new restaurants.

Rumi Lazarova, DDS

Dr. Lazarova brings extensive experience advising and mentoring dental school applicants, with a strong understanding of the admissions process gained through her involvement in student mentorship and pre-dental advising. She has guided many applicants in developing compelling personal statements, refining their overall application strategy, and strengthening their candidacy, including supporting reapplicants and students from diverse educational backgrounds. A Bulgarian native who grew up in both Canada and the United States, Dr. Lazarova brings a global perspective shaped by firsthand experience navigating multiple academic systems. She earned her dental degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and is currently completing her orthodontics residency at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. She is deeply committed to helping applicants present authentic, confident, and competitive applications.
